The last post on the Earth was ‘Sorry kids, we are killing your planet’ and it has been interesting trying to make changes to how we interact with our environment. April 22nd is a special day to celebrate Mother Earth and refocus our efforts to minimize our negative impact. Here are a few simple ways to enjoy and celebrate our Mother Earth.

  1. Keep your car at home.
  2. Activity/Yoga outside. How about going for a hike!
  3. Reassess your Recycling strategy at home.
  4. Use no electricity.
  5. Unplug tv
  6. Plant Trees & food.
  7. Change to earth friendly products: Here is some recipes for cleaners.
  8. Reusable grocery bags/coffee mug/water bottles
  9. Watch on Eco-friendly flick: “The Cove”, “An Inconvenient Truth”, “Waiting for Superman”, and “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead” are examples. Take caution if you are watching these with your kids- some are not kid-friendly.
  10. Teach your kids facts about our Earth.
  11. Recycle your E-waste. Figure out your closest center here at EPA Gov.

My Challenge to you: Let’s make some extra awesome effort to celebrate the Earth this week and really appreciate the place we call home. The list above is only a few suggestions, so get creative.
