The Great Easter Challenge

April 14-16 is Easter Weekend, which usually means egg hunts and chocolate for most people. But I would like to suggest a little ‘less technology’ challenge. This means that on Thursday April 13th at midnight we shut off our technology and don’t start them back up until Sunday night. We take this time away from technology to spend more time with our loved ones- which is what Easter really should be about. So are you ready for your challenge friends?!?

Your Rules:

-Turn off or put on silence your phone Thursday April 13th at Midnight.

-No playing video games.

-No television unless you are watching it as a family.

-No movies unless you are watching it as a family.

-No Facebook or social media of any kind. None. Zero.

-No texting unless it is for logistics. (Aunt Freda need the address, etc.)

-No Internet unless it is to settle a family bet. (Which animal can run faster: a ostrich or a horse? Answer: Ostrich)

-You can check your emails once a day for critical items.

Tips/Suggestions:

-Go enjoy nature.

-Start an active activity with your friends and family. (flag football, a hike, play basketball, bocce ball, a walk, golf, etc)

– Invite your friends and family over for a meal.

-Cook together as a family or friend group.

-Play a board game. (cranium, candyland, Monopoly, etc)

– Listen to an old timey radio show like ‘Little Orphan Annie’.

-Read together.

-Anything non-technology.

My Challenge to you: The Great Easter Challenge is about reassessing our need for technology and to encourage direct social interactions with our loved ones to create happy memories. <3
